icis_machine: Tools to help you look more professional

I was tired of doing timing diagrams by hand, so I found this piece of SW.

I have also used this for graphing functions and comparing files/folder/etc...

What other tools have you found that are useful in your work, especially if they are free or near free?

Never used it myself, but octave is an open source version of MATLAB.

Yes, but the value of matlab is not in the main software (which is actually rather minimal), but in the very expensive plug-ins for it.

There's a lot of open source software that you're probably not aware of. Search with terms like 'open source EDA' and such. Although don't expect much for ones that do simulation.
